The 1545 Envira Coat Reflective paint system brings the concept of environmentally functional coatings to everyday paint projects. Air quality is always addressed with modern paints, but Enviro Coat solar reflective formulations add values that can be realized immediately.
Kelly Moore's Envira Coat Reflective is an Exterior 100% Acrylic Solar-Reflective Low Sheen Paint once applied to vertical outside walls, reflects a portion of the radiant heat from the sun away from the building. This advanced infrared-reflective technology employs unique pigments in the paint that will not allow as much IR radiant heat to absorb into the film and wall, even when using mid-tone and darker colors.
This technology is designed to save energy and expenses.
Formulated with “advanced infrared-reflective technology” used in the roof-coating industry, the 100% acrylic coating employs specialty pigments that prevent infrared radiant heat from absorbing into the wall—even in medium and darker colors—thus keeping exterior walls cooler, the company says.
The product is available in six, ready-mixed stock colors and can be applied by brush, roller or spray. To achieve the greatest degree of reflectivity, the company said specifications should call for a white primer to be applied first.
